In partnership with one of our co-partners, AGENDA/SCOPE in Los Angeles, we use the power analysis to assist organizations and coalitions in:

• identifying concrete agendas to move key public policy or electoral issues;
• mapping relevant decision makers, organized constituencies, potential allies and unorganized groups; and
• ranking competing campaigns based on the collective priorities of coalition partners.

For example . . .

... in New Haven, one purpose for the Civic Leadership Institute is to begin training future political candidates for city and state offices.

... in Denver, CLI participants collectively identified targets, including public expenditures and legislative bodies, for upcoming policy campaigns. With shared analysis, they mobilized a base of union members and community groups to get two allies appointed to state legislative committees.

... in Boston, the leadership institute mapped current and potential organizing--in healthcare, workplace organizing, affordable housing, good jobs, accountable public officials--identifying the intersections for future work.
